August
2007 -
In
August we added a new road rail vactor to our fleet. Put straight
into service for Network Rail on a possession at Grantham, it
has been built to our exacting requirements at our works under
the guidance of our Design and Build Engineer Peter Shenton -
who is also our Operations manager.
The vactor unit is built on a 4x4 Daf Chassis with a 3,200 cfm
air mover capable of sucking ballast with great ease. It incorporates
a high pressure Pratissoli pump operating at 1,500 lbs per square
inch and capable of dispensing 40 gallons a minute. This power
enables the vast majority of all railway drainage tasks to be
dealt with easily. |
